House design

Housing is one of the most exciting and frustrating areas of design in the modern world. Bound by bureaucracy, cultural myths around ownership and investment and by the interests of large building system supplies; people building houses are often channelled into a market solution which diverts their initial energy to have something exciting and closer in context to their culture and lifestyle.

After designing and building my own house from 2001 I have designed five more. I seem to be in a hiatus at the moment as market conditions have slumped. Hopefully I’ll get some more opportunities soon – although I have always thought to build what I would like to see I will probably have to fund it myself.
